About us

In February 2005, The Barros Melo Animation Studio was formed with the purpose of bringing together a team of competent and creative professionals to assist in the promotion of animation from the State of Pernambuco both within Brazil and internationally. With a commitment to be continuously improving with each production, in just over four years we’ve been recognised nationally and internationally by renowned film festivals and publications.

In figures, the success of our productions can be evaluated by over 50 prizes awarded in national festivals – including well known events such as Anima Mundi and the Rio and Gramado Festivals – together with over 180 exhibitions in countries including Spain, England, Canada, Japan, Cuba and the United States. More than merely a great achievement, such recognition drives us to work even harder, knowing that this success sorry is only just beginning.
